VMware View 4.0 beta with Teradici PCoIP software implementation

After the launch of Site Recovery Manager (SRM) 4.0, VMware Starts yesterday the final private beta for key customers and partners, this time for the VDI solution VIEW fourth

The new VMware View 4.0 includes the software implementation of the Teradici PC-over-IP (PCoIP) remoting protocol.

VMware has been working for quite some time, just since the end of 2007, because the Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to replace, by joining in the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA), an attempt was made to a new standard called Net2Display which, however, was never published.

clear since, was that Net2Display RDP has not replaced quickly VMware developed a two-phase plan to implement a more efficient protocol for the SLI platform.

In phase one, VMware has signed an OEM agreement with the thin-client vendor Wyse Technology to its TCX-MMR (multimedia) and TCX-MDS (Multi-Display) to integrate technologies.

In phase two, VMware has initiated a development program with Teradici to integrate a software version of the High-Performance PCoIP protocol in the SLI platform.

the moment, the Teradici technology is available only with the help of special graphics adapter. VMware demonstrated this technology in action at VMworld Europe 2009 and had only positive feedback.

After months of work, the two companies are now prepared to the solution in the first private beta of View 4.0 to show the PCoIP is fully integrated ..

It is safe to assume that this VMware software implementation at the upcoming VMworld 2009 show in San Francisco. It is conceivable that there could be a server card to this Teradici chips will give then a virtual graphics card bring into the virtual desktops. In connection with the Teradici Thin Client or better Teradici zero client would then the current high-performance 1 to 1 solution based on the Teradici chips to become a 1 N solution. Thus, genuine Windows Aero would be 7, Pivot, true dual monitor features of the virtual work possible. A wonderful idea.
